Through The Tank - Documentary Dance Derformance

What kind of career can you have after studying dance in this country... Dance teacher? Disney parade dancer? Physical theatre actor? Clothing seller? Artist?"

This was the question posed by Wayla Vawynn, a dance instructor who has danced in a Disney parade, acted in physical theatre, sold clothes, and now identifies as an 'artist.' It inspired Through the Tank, a documentary dance performance exploring the confines of the "fish tank" of the education system.

Immerse yourself in 45 minutes of a solo performance at the Bangkok Theatre Festival, diving into an aquarium of the not-quite-dead but still hoping to be born. Through a personal story from a chapter in life, Wayla reaches a point where it becomes clear—so, this is what the proof of failure in the attempt to be an artist looks like.
